The Noble Dobermans' Refuge

Welcome to The Noble Dobermans refuge and rehab center.  We are advocates for Dobermans that have been abused, and neglected.  Each year hundreds of Dobermans are abused and or killed by their owners. This is the reason we are here, we are the voice for these amazing canines.

The Noble Doberman Refuge was founded in 2008, we are not a typical rescue, we are a transition center for dobermans in need. We accept owner surrender dobermans, and we also accept strays, and those abandoned at shelters.  Before accepting a doberman into our refuge we fully assess the doberman to determine the needs of the dobie.  All doberman before coming to our home are fully vetted, tested for heartworms, and vaccinated for rabies and given routine canine vaccinations. ALL dobermans in our refuge are fully assessed for temperment, any form of aggression,  and the dobermans perference of cats, other dogs, other forms of pets, and livestock, and children. We also start training the doberman in basic commands (sit, stay, come, down) We work with them on and off leash, through all of this we are able to find the best possible home for the doberman.

Surrendering your doberman should never be your first option.  We will work with you to help you keep your doberman if that is your desire.  If your doberman has behavioral issues then we can help. Please note, we ONLY use positive training methods, no heavy hands here. So if you are wanting guard dog training, look else where.

 Alittle about us,

We are located in Covington, Georgia. We have five acres in the heart of Walton County, We have plenty of space for our dobermans to run and play, safe from the dangers that have haunted their lives in the past.  The dobermans that have found their refuge here at Noble Dobermans NEVER have to worry about being abused or neglected ever again.  Our lives revolve around our dobermans, they give us so much joy and love, we owe them so much. A doberman will never give up on their owners, although the owners often give up on them.

DOGS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Please understand that not every dog is perfect for every individual/family which is why we may ask even more questions than on the application. Sometimes the dog you may want is not the dog suitable for your situation.  We want the adoption to be a happy and permanent one for both you and the dog. WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA!!   Being a  small rescue we do not have the resources to do out of state home visits and follow ups. We DO NOT adopt male dobermans into homes with another large breed dog, nor do we adopt females into homes with another large female dog. Typically this will result in current or future issues.  However from time to time exceptions are made depending on the dog.  All our dogs live in my home and are evaluated for temperament, heartworm tested, vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered before being adopted to their new home. Thank you for considering a rescue dog.

God Gave Us Dobermans

I will lend to you for a while, a Doberman pup, God said
For you to love him while he lives and mourn him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three.
But will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowds life's land, I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my Dobie back again.
I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done",
For all the joys this Dobe will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we have known, forever grateful stay.
But should you call him back much sooner than we've planned
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve,
The memory of him and his love, will help us while we grieve.
When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife
We'll have yet another Doberman and love him all his life.
